




The driving philosophy behind the yard is to recycle and to carefully select stock on ethical grounds. They both firmly believe in salvaging materials that have been used before and giving them a new lease of life. A constant stock of building materials such as bricks, slate, tiles, sanitary ware, fireplaces, radiators, glass, beams etc move in and out of the yard.
Ian and Jane help and guide their customers to utilise different materials and objects to there best advantage. For example the utensils rack for a customer was made out of sand blasted oak using over sized hand forged nails-the customer had come into the yard to buy something made out of metal!
A lot of creative trades people use the yard from landscape gardeners, interior- designers, restoration builders, cabinet makers and joiners to name a few.
The oversized Belfast sink has been set into a bespoke unit made out of oak with old ledge and brace doors. The work surfaces are made out of snooker table slate. The window sill is marble salvaged from a smashed fireplace…
